Chesas da cultura Engiadina is an association of 19 cultural centres across the Upper Engadine, including museums, studios, libraries, archives, galleries, and exhibition spaces. They showcase the region's cultural diversity—from art and language to architecture, cuisine, and sports—through exhibitions and events.

Splendur e sumbriva

In 2024/2025, the collective presents Splendur e sumbriva – Light and Shadow in the Engadine, exploring themes like alpine light phenomena, spa design, literary light, and the interplay of natural and artificial light. The collaboration aims to connect cultural centres and offer locals and visitors easy access to the rich cultural heritage of the Engadine.

VISUAL PROJECT

On the one hand, an identity for the association was developed as a visual for the joint exhibition project splendur e sumbriva. For each house, a unique visual was generated from a work of art that was printed in a grid. The different visuals are evenly distributed across all media, creating new images over and over again. This includes a website, concept and design for Social Media, newsletters, posters F12 / F4, postcards, Flyer-folders and a catalogue.

The catalog introduces the houses and showcases all the exhibitions curated under the title Light and Shadow in the Engadin. The cover was produced using screen printing, while the content was printed in four-color offset.

Engadin Museum Night

The Engadin museums open their doors free of charge for one night - between Maloja & Sils, Pontresina & Samedan, St. Moritz & Celerina. A opportunity to get to know the wealth of Engadin culture: the art of Giovanni Segantini, Turo Pedretti, Giuliano Pedretti, Mili Weber, Andrea Robbi and Peter Robert Berry.

The Engadin Museum Night is part of the Chesas da Cultura association and takes place annually. In 2024, it debuts a fresh new look, reflecting the updated identity we have created for the event.
